Pedro took me to get a haircut around 1, which only costed around 100 MXN ($7 CAD)!
We went over to visit his Grandparents after, as they were hosting us all for a meal. These are the same ones who took Pedro and I on the tequila tour the other day. We ate just after we arrived, and then me and Pedro went into the other room and turned on the TV. We both ended up falling asleep in the lazy-boy recliners for about an hour, and when we awoke, it was time to go.
When we got home, I went to see the rabbit, and then packed up. Pedro dropped me off at the house of his cousins (Santiago & Patricio). Their family lives just a few minutes away from Pedro. Shortly after settling in, we all went over to their uncles house for a get together. There were around 12 of us there, and everyone was nice. I had some great conversation with Santiago’s Mom & Grandma, who speak great english. We had lots of laughs.
Tacos for dinner, with horchata to drink. It is like a rice-water, and it sweet.
Two people there had young toddlers, who made lots of noise. One of them was screeching at the top of her lungs repeatedly for attention, and at one point, the little boy bit the little girl on her arm. After 3 minutes of crying, they were friends (cousins) again.
Something to add, I am covered in mosquito bites, but only around my ankles. Yesterday, I read something about how they are attracted to the smells that come out of your pores, and if you eat spicy things, they are less attracted to you. So last night when we were at the cafe, I noticed that there was a small dish of sliced chilli-pepper in the middle of the table. So I ate 4 or 5 pieces of it. Yes, it was a bit spicy. The entire family thought I was crazy when I told them why I was eating them. Hoping that helped some.
