Got up around noon. The movie we saw last night didn’t end until nearly 12:30, and we weren’t home until just before one. I guess we were up until 2:30, which is why we slept in this morning. We were supposed to go wake-boarding at Chapala Lake on JP’s family boat, but the weather forecast was bad, and his Dad ended up working.
JP, his Mom, Brother, and I, still ended up going though, just not on the boat. It was just over an hour away, and when we arrived (around four), we went to a place to eat. Apparently, there are several Americans & Canadians living in this city. Unfortunately, I only saw Americans. The restaurant we were in had an outdoor area that looks onto the lake. Chapala Lake is Mexico’s largest freshwater lake. We would have eaten outside, but it had just finished raining, and all of the tables were wet.
JP & I, someone needs to grow!
We walked around the town for a little bit after, and checked out a market just up from the beach. There was a pier that stretched out over the water, and as we got to the end of it, the rain began to start up again. I had wanted a picture in front of the town sign, and so we ran to get one before the rain got too bad.
Most people had began to run for cover when the downpour started, some running under awnings, trees, and some into the large church. JP’s Mom & Brother had gone for the car, while him and I took a picture at the sign. We were able to catch someone to take the photo, and after she gave my phone back to me, she ran off in search of cover. It was kind of funny, it felt like home; rain!
We got home, watched some Netflix, and then went out to meet a few friends. Elias H., whom I met briefly before, Natalia who I went for lunch with a few weeks ago, and Jose, who says he knows me, but I don’t recall meeting him before. Either way, we all had a nice time.
